Important Information Regarding Exam Registration For 2009 Test Takers!
MCAT®
The AAMC Fee Assistance Program (FAP) aids individuals with extreme financial limitations who otherwise could not take the exam. The program reduces the regular testing fee for eligible individuals from $225 to $85.
There are two circumstances in which you must apply for special permission to take the MCAT® exam: (1) you wish to take the test for any reason other than applying to a health professions school, or (2) you are a currently enrolled medical student.
PCAT®
There are only 3 more test dates available this year: June 20, 2009. August 22, 2009, and October 17, 2009
You may register for the PCAT® exam online or via paper registration. The cost of the PCAT® exam includes one score report, and three official transcripts sent to three schools that you specify at registration.
PCAT® scores are kept on file for 5 years from your testing date.
DAT®
You may reschedule to take the DAT® exam. However, rescheduling your testing appointment will result in a rescheduling fee.
You are able to take the DAT® exam more than once. However, you are required to submit a new application and fee for each retest. An examinee must wait at least 90 days to retake the DAT®.
OAT®
You must apply to take the OAT® exam. However, the following test dates will be blocked for 2009: 04.09-04.30.09. The cost of the OAT® exam is $205.00.
You are allowed to take the OAT® an unlimited number of times. However, examinees must wait at least 90 days between testing dates.
The results of the four most recent OAT®s, as well as the total number of OAT®s taken, are released on the official score reports and forwarded to the optometry schools.
GRE®
You can register to take the GRE® exam (computer-based general test) at anytime.
The cost of the GRE® exam is $140.00 (U.S. test takers).
There are three ways you can register for the GRE®: phone, mail or online.
You may call in to reschedule your GRE® test exam, but there is a rescheduling fee of $50.
SAT®
You can register for the SAT® via mail or online. The fast and easiest way to register is online. On March 14, 2009, only the SAT® is offered. The other test dates administer both SAT® and subject tests.
If you are a first time taker for the SAT®, online registration is only permitted for Saturday test takers. Sunday test takers must submit via mail.
You can register to take SAT® online only if you plan to take the test on Saturday, and it\\\'s not your first time.
The deadline to register for the SAT® exam in May is 04.14.09.
The deadline to register for the SAT® exam in June is 05.19.09
