PCAT® General Information

The PCAT® is designed to provide pharmacy schools with common measures for comparing the qualifications of applicants. The exam measures general academic aptitude, comprehension of scientific information, and perceptual ability needed for matriculation into a pharmaceutical program. The exam is offered four times each year and is comprised of 240 multiple-choice items and two Writing topics. The PCAT® exam takes approximately four hours to complete.

You can register online at www.PCAT®web.info or via paper registration by calling the PSE Customer Relations to request the form. Within 48 hours after your registration (online or via paper Registration Form) is received and processed, you will receive an email notice (sent to the email you provided when you registered) with information about accessing your Registration Confirmation.

You will want to take the exam in your junior year of college, and apply for pharmacy school, so that, for example, if you are applying in 2009 for entrance to pharmacy school in 2010, you should take the exam in 2009.

Price of the PCAT® is $125. This fee includes registration online or via paper registration form, the submission of official transcripts of scores being sent to three pharmacy schools and a personal copy. All requests for official transcripts of scores after submitting registration form require an additional transcript fee for changes and additional schools. Also, you CANNOT change your Test Center Location after you submit your registration.
